Feeling Blessed: A Thanksgiving Reflection
This year, as Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself pausing to reflect on the blessings around me. For the first time, my family and I will celebrate this cherished holiday in our new home—a space that already feels warm, welcoming, and full of potential. This year is special because we’re hosting Thanksgiving here, surrounded by loved ones. The joy of preparing for this moment, of setting the table and filling the house with the aroma of gratitude and love, feels like a dream falling into place.
To Those Working This Holiday Season
While many of us gather around the table, sharing laughter and meals, I want to take a moment to acknowledge those working this Thanksgiving. Whether you’re a healthcare worker, first responder, retail employee, or anyone else keeping the world moving—thank you. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
Remember to take time for yourself when you can. Gratitude extends to recognizing the role you play in making the holiday season brighter for others. Your hard work is appreciated, and I hope you find small moments of joy and peace in the midst of it all.
Black Friday: Shop Smarter, Not Harder
As the Thanksgiving feast settles, many of us might be tempted by Black Friday deals. But before you rush out (or hop online), here’s some budget-friendly wisdom to keep in mind:
1. Set a Spending Limit: Determine a budget you won’t exceed and stick to it. A great deal isn’t great if it leaves you stressed.
2. Do Your Research: Before you buy, check the regular price of the item. Many “sales” are just small discounts dressed up with flashy signs.
3. Make a List of Needs: Focus on what you truly need, not what looks enticing in the moment.
4. Avoid Splurges: Marketing tactics are designed to tempt you—stay disciplined. If an item wasn’t on your radar before Black Friday, it might not be worth it.
5. Remember the Holidays: The spirit of the season isn’t about spending. Keep your priorities grounded in experiences, loved ones, and joy.
Happy Holidays to All
No matter how or where you celebrate, I hope this season fills your heart with warmth. For those celebrating Thanksgiving, may your table overflow with good food and your home with even better company.
As I prepare to celebrate this milestone Thanksgiving in our new home, I’m reminded of what truly matters—the connections we nurture, the gratitude we express, and the memories we create.
What’s your Thanksgiving looking like this year? Share your thoughts and stories—I’d love to hear how you’re celebrating this season.
Warmest wishes to you and yours, RPM
